Founding statement

1: Motivation and perspective

1.Spirituality as a broad phenomenon has taken on many forms in recent decades – also within the Christian horizon.

2. This calls for a curious investigation of the broad Christian tradition of immersion, as well as of the understanding and practice of other forms of faith, with a view to a greater authenticity in faith and existence
   3. The perspective of the association’s work is to contribute to a fruitful meeting between contemporary spirituality and the Christian tradition.

2: Activities

2a. The association will enhance immersion in faith and existence with an emphasis on meditative practice in experimental and investigative forms.

2b. The association’s task is to create a framework for the following: – Events, meetings and seminars on various forms of immersion practice.

– Church services and devotions with a focus on meditative contemplation and reflection.-

Retreats, travels and similar activities related to the association’s area of interest

– Establishment of meditative communities.

2c. The association may undertake to participate in special events such as study trips, church days, conferences and other activities that the board finds relevant.

2d. In its activities, the association will strive to enter into cooperation with similar actors and individuals who work in accordance with the association’s purpose,

3: Values

3a. The association is aware of its roots in the Christian tradition and understands itself as a community for exchange of and reflection on spiritual experiences within a Christian horizon.

3b. The association works ecumenically and interreligiously, and emphasizes open dialogue between all religious and existential views of life.

3.c. The association seeks to be a creative and experimental network that caters to both members of the association and to others with an interest in contemporary spirituality.
